Shards of the Crown
Physical Description: A collection of tents stretched over merchandise varying from fresh vegetables and fish to odd trinkets for those with a taste for unusual treasures.
Word on the Street: The real trading and money making goes on there.
History: In the years before shopkeepers built proper buildings to store their wares most gathered under tents each morning on the edge of town to sell their goods. Even after many had built permanent shops of their own the practice continued. It proved a popular way to allow those with no interest in buying a shop to offer their goods, traders especially liked it as they could peruse the wares and trade at the same time. Today merchants continue the practice setting up their temporary shops each morning and staying until dusk.
